NEWS - 2006

NOVEMBER 2006

17 Nov:  December's Maverick magazine has a very nice three-page interview with Jeff which is well worth a read.  Maverick should be available from November 16th at all good newsagents, some HMV stores, Borders Bookshops, Virgin MegaStores and Superstores and some independent record shops.  You can visit their website if you'd prefer to order a copy from there.  www.maverick-country.com

SEPTEMBER 2006

23 Sep:  Additional photographs now uploaded - a new one from Edinburgh, sets from Bedford, from the charity show in Kingsclere, and from Swansea can now be viewed in the Photographs section.

18 Sep:   A reminder that the second hour of Bryan Burnett's Brand New Country show on Friday 22 September 2006 will be a recording of Jeff's recent house concert in Argyll.   The first part of the show will be from Nashville, where Robert Reynolds, formerly of the Mavericks, acts as guide.  Check Karen Miller's blog for details.   (Karen is a producer on the show).    The show is archived until the next show supersedes it on Friday 29th.   Don't miss it, it sounds great.

17 Sep:   As mentioned by Bob Harris on his Radio 2 show last night, Jeff is performing at a house concert tonight at 6pm in the Fieldgate Centre, Kingsclere, Berkshire, in aid of Thatu. If you want to be at the show, contact Stephen Fleming on 01635 299116 - or perhaps you will be able to just turn up...  See Tour Dates.  It's his last show in England for this tour - he heads off to Ireland next week.    Many thanks to Bob Harris for all the recent airplay!   http://www.bobharris.org/

Anyone unable to get to a show, but wanting to order Alive and Retrospective: Vol I, can do so here:

16 Sep:   A CD review from Maverick magazine is now in the Album Reviews area - and some very nice photos of Jeff with the band from yesterday's show at The Star Club in Bedford are in the Photographs section.  More photos from that show will follow shortly, so keep coming back to check - I'm sure we'll get one with Keith Weir in shot onstage sometime soon!

10 Sep:  More photos - this time from Edinburgh - and a live review of the Glasgow show from The Scotsman added.

7 Sep:  Some photographs from Jeff's house concert in Argyll on Wed 6 September are online, courtesy of Karen Miller. The show was held at the studio of artists John McNeil and Jean Bell - http://www.fyne-studios.com/  See our Photographs page.  This show was recorded for BBC Radio Scotland and will be broadcast on the Bryan Burnett's Brand New Country show on Friday 22 September 2006.

27 Aug:  News just in that the show at the Korova Club, Liverpool, has been cancelled, due to circumstances beyond our control.  Apologies to all those who were hoping to go to that show - we'd like to see you at another one though...

2 Aug:

You can now pre-order Jeff's new CD "Angels in Disguise" - due for release 28 August 2006 (UK) and 31 August 2006 (US)

This CD has almost the same tracklisting as Epinonymous, but with the addition of four songs: Angel in Disguise, Don't Know Why, Break You Down, and Moon Man.

More CDs are available from our Online Store.

1 Aug:  Jeff's band members for the upcoming UK tour are Paul Guerin (guitar), Guy Griffin (guitar), Keith Weir (keyboards) and Pip Mailing (drums) from the Quireboys.  You can visit their website at: http://www.quireboys.com

Quireboys fans who are visiting us for the first time may want to check out the MP3s here - there are two full songs on the Store page (scroll down to the Somewhere South of Wonder CD), a further two full songs on Jeff's MySpace page
http://www.myspace.com/jefffinlin and numerous soundclips on the Discography page on this site.  Anyone joining the mailing list gets access to another two acoustic tracks.  For those interested in hearing two interviews which are archived on BBC Radio Foyle, you can go to McLean's Country to catch up.

For those with the inclination, there's a Jeff Finlin Yahoo Group too - http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/jefffinlin/

Oh, nearly forgot, there are soundclips from Jeff's live album "Live from Nowhere" at the Not Lame website.

Hope you enjoy your time exploring Jeff's site!

MAY 2006

15 May:
Blue Wren Announcement!     Jeff Finlin to Tour Australia, November 2006

Blue Wren Music is proud to announce Jeff Finlin's first tour  'down under', early November 2006.

As part of a double-header tour with dynamic Sydney singer-songwriter, Glenn Cardier, Jeff will be performing in major venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane together with other great venues in and around New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland. The Australian Tour will follow hot on the heels of Jeff's Autumn Tour of the UK and Europe.

The tour will be billed as the Somewhere South of Eden Tour, and will give Australian audiences a chance to hear many of Jeff's brilliant songs from Somewhere South Of Wonder - for the first time, and in the flesh. The tour should also coincide with the Australian release of Jeff's latest album Epinonymous.

Audiences will also be privileged to hear songs from the new album by the authentic and 'national treasure', Glenn Cardier.

Jeff Finlin & Glenn Cardier - A double bill that will astound!

Visit the
Blue Wren site for full detail and flyers for both artists.   Dates also on Jeff's Tour Dates page.

APRIL 2006

25 Apr: Jeff now has a MySpace site - you can find it at:  http://www.myspace.com/jefffinlin

You can also still listen to two of Jeff's sessions on BBC Radio Foyle by going to McLean's Country

FEBRUARY 2006

15 Feb: Jeff has signed to Warner/Korova to release Epinonymous with some additional bonus tracks.   He is also working on a new record, which is potentially to be titled East by West.   Also in the works is the possibility of a second live album, following on the success of Live from Nowhere (still available at  Not Lame Records)

And there is the possibility of a UK tour in September 2006.  Nothing confirmed as yet, so keep watching this space for information!
